Young Adult Classes

The Young Adult (20s & 30s) classes meet at 9:30am on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month at Westmont of Encinitas (across the street from Redeemer).  There is plenty of parking on El Camino Court.

In March and April we will look at how the Gospel impacts our response to our neighbors in need – “Mercy & Justice”.

Our primary text will be Tim Keller’s book, “Ministries of Mercy.”  We have copies of the book available for $10, or we encourage you to order the book online.

Our schedule of topics and discussions will follow the book’s main divisions:
March 3 – What is the biblical basis for Christian principles of mercy, for individual believers and for churches?
March 17 – Discussion of the Principles of Mercy Ministry – 1) is this what the Bible teaches? 2) How do we put these into practice?
April 7 – Questions about 1) the Call to Mercy, 2) the Character of Mercy, 3) the Motivation for Mercy
April 21 – Questions about the 1) Balance of Keeping and Giving with mercy, 2) serving the church vs serving the world, 3) questions about conditional vs unconditional mercy to those who need mercy, and 4) questions of the balance of word and deed in meeting mercy needs
