A Summer Study of Philippians

This summer women’s Bible study will take us verse-by-verse through Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Together we’ll spend seven weeks slowing down in a single book of the Bible, learning simple study tools and growing in confidence as we read God’s Word for ourselves.

At the heart of Philippians is a simple but challenging call: “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ” (Phil. 1:27). As we observe the text, consider its meaning, and discuss its implications together, we’ll discover what it looks like to stand firm in Christ, pursue humility and unity, rejoice in every circumstance, and press on in faith until the day of Christ.

The group will meet weekly for seven sessions:

Addressing Some Questions

What if I can’t come every week?

That’s okay! We know summer schedules can be unpredictable. We’d still love for you to participate as much as you’re able. That said, the study is designed to build from week to week, so you’ll get the most out of it if you’re able to attend consistently.

How much homework will there be?

Don’t let the word “homework” deter you! The weekly assignments are designed to help you spend time in the passage before we meet. You can engage at a basic level or go deeper depending on your capacity. Even if you don’t complete all of the homework, you’ll still benefit from the teaching and discussion each week.

What will the class be like?

If you participated in Savor or From Shadow to Substance, you’ll already be familiar with the basic format. Each week combines personal study, discussion, teaching, and prayer as we work through Philippians together.
