From Shadow to Substance

A Christ-Centered Survey of the Old Testament

This women’s growth group is a study of the Old Testament designed to help you see the unfolding story of Scripture and to grow in confidence as you read God’s Word. Through simple tools, guided homework, teaching, and group discussion, you’ll learn to observe, interpret, and apply Scripture faithfully—discovering how the Old Testament’s promises, patterns, and people point to Jesus. Come discover the grace of a God who has been telling one story of redemption from the very beginning.

Two different groups will meet every-other week for ten sessions, from January–May:

  • Wednesdays, 9:30 – 11am beginning January 14 (Jan 14, 28; Feb 11, 25; Mar 11, 25; Apr 8, 22; May 6; 20)
  • Tuesdays, 7 – 8:30pm beginning January 20 (Jan 20; Feb 3, 17; Mar 3, 17, 31; Apr 14, 28; May 12, 26)

Addressing some questions:

Will there be childcare? We are not offering childcare at this time. We hope with the morning and evening options you can find a time that works for you!

What if I can’t come every week? That’s okay! As with any extended Bible study, it’s understandable you may have to miss some weeks. We’d still love for you to participate as much as you are able. That said, if you sign up, please consider setting apart the time for this study—it will be well worth your investment!

Can I join via Zoom? Though in-person attendance is strongly encouraged, the Tuesday evening group does have a Zoom option. Please indicate you will attend via Zoom when you register.

How much homework will there be? Don’t let the word “homework” deter you! The homework is structured such that you can dip your toes in or do a deep dive, depending on your capacity. And you will still get a lot out of the study even if you just show up to the meeting for teaching and discussion each week.

What will the class be like? If you participated in the Savor study last summer, you are already familiar with the structure. It follows the observe, interpret, apply study method.
